Please read these terms carefully before using Chariot.

1. Introduction

Welcome to Chariot. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Chariot platform, including our website, mobile applications, and all related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Chariot is operated in Nigeria and provides premium interstate travel booking services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use the Service independently. Minors between the ages of 13 and 17 may travel on Chariot only when a booking is made by a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on their behalf. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements and that all information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. Account Registration

To book a trip, you must create an account using a valid email address and Nigerian phone number. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account. Chariot reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are used fraudulently.

4. Booking & Payment

All bookings are subject to seat availability. When you complete a booking, you enter into a contract for interstate transportation services. Payment is required at the time of booking and is processed securely through Paystack or from your Chariot wallet balance. Prices are displayed in Nigerian Naira (NGN) and include all applicable fees unless otherwise stated. A booking is confirmed only after successful payment and issuance of a booking reference. Chariot reserves the right to adjust fares at any time; however, confirmed bookings will not be affected by subsequent price changes.

5. Cancellation & Refunds

You may cancel a booking up to 6 hours before the scheduled departure time for a full refund to your Chariot wallet. Cancellations made between 6 and 2 hours before departure are eligible for a 50% refund to your wallet. No refund is available for cancellations made less than 2 hours before departure or for no-shows. If Chariot cancels a trip due to operational reasons, you will receive a full refund to your original payment method or wallet, at your preference. Refunds to bank accounts or cards are processed within 5 to 10 business days.

6. Wallet

Chariot provides an in-app wallet that can be used to pay for bookings. Wallet balances may be funded via Paystack or received as refunds from cancelled trips. Wallet funds are non-transferable and cannot be withdrawn to a bank account. Wallet balances do not expire as long as your account remains active. Chariot reserves the right to suspend wallet functionality if fraudulent activity is suspected.

7. User Conduct

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not use the platform to make fraudulent bookings, engage in payment fraud, or impersonate other users. During travel, passengers are expected to conduct themselves respectfully and follow all instructions from Chariot staff. Chariot reserves the right to deny boarding or remove passengers who behave in a disorderly, threatening, or unsafe manner. Repeated violations may result in permanent account suspension.

8. Limitation of Liability

Chariot provides the Service on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we strive to maintain punctual and safe travel, we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, Chariot shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to delays caused by traffic, weather, or mechanical issues. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific booking giving rise to the claim.

9. Changes to Terms

Chariot may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the revised Terms on our website and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
